Enhancing the DFS information flow through innovative channels

In collaboration with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Shega is running a three-year, $1.4 million project in Ethiopia. The initiative, spanning from 2023 to 2025, is designed to enhance the information flow in Digital Financial Services Sector (DFS).

Our role involves orchestrating pivotal conversations that bring together key stakeholders, including policymakers, EdTech entrepreneurs, teachers, and parents, to shape the future of teaching and learning

Uncovering Addis Ababa Emerging Start-up Ecosystem

In collaboration with JICA and MINT, our comprehensive study, the “Addis Ababa Startup Ecosystem Report,” meticulously mapped over 300 startups in various sectors within the city. Through effective data collection methods, including online surveys and interviews, we extracted vital insights.

Inclusion of SMEs in the Digital Economy: Providing Access to Capital through Digital Channels

We conducted a comprehensive analysis to explore avenues for integrating Ethiopian SMEs into the digital economy. Our study encompassed a survey of over 1000 MSMEs across five Ethiopian cities, evaluating their accessibility to finance via digital means.

Transforming Ethiopia's Digital Economy Empowering Women-Owned SMEs

In our initiative to shape Ethiopia’s digital landscape, we embarked on a multifaceted approach aimed at supporting Women-Owned SMEs. Under the World Bank’s IFWE project in 2021, our efforts included mapping the fintech and ecommerce trends in Ethiopia, identifying barriers to digital innovations, engaging with e-commerce platforms to facilitate vendor onboarding, and assessing regional disparities in digital infrastructure and financial institution capacity.

Charting Ethiopia's Cloud Services Landscape: A Comprehensive Study

In collaboration with Palladium/USAID in 2022, we conducted a study of Ethiopia’s cloud services sector. Our initiative involved identifying and surveying key players within the industry, valuing marketing size and identifying entry strategies. providing a comprehensive overview of the nation’s cloud services landscape. By delving into the core of this sector, the findings not only facilitated a nuanced understanding of the cloud sector but also empowered the investment decision making process of a well-known Cloud service provider, fostering the growth of cloud service and technological infrastructure in Ethiopia.
